We
are used to complicated funding streams, are open to bartering and
can often assist contractors to raise money through grant writing
assistance and fundraising
activities.(see
below)
The
Process.
This is how it usually works:
1. You contact us with your learning goals.
2. We ask you a few questions like how many participants will attend,
location, time frames, concerns about the type of language to be used,
what to do with difficult topics that may come up etc…
3. Then we send you a proposal that would include how we would attempt
to reach the goals you have identified: the exercises we think might
work, the film clips we might use, tentative agendas and timeframes.
4. We get your feedback and make adjustments. Hopefully this process
gives us both the best chance at tailoring a workshop/experience to
meet your needs.
Ballparks
We often get asked for “ballpark” figures so here are some:
Usually for small or very short gatherings there is a $350 minimum fee.
Travel and lodging, when appropriate should also be considered.
Workshops/Small
Group Facilitation and Mediation
Workshops settings for us means, usually up to 35 people in an active
hands on environment.
$75-$175 dollars per training hour. (Usually there is no, or minimal
charges for prep time.)
Lower-end
may represent topics that are part of our regular repertoire (where
less prep work may be required)
or some extended training engagements at 50 or more hours or more.
Higher-end may represent topics that would require more intense
upfront preparation or agendas that are created by committees that
may require many additional hours prior to the training it self.
Large
Group Facilitation, Presentations and Keynote programs
For us this usually means more than 40 people in a somewhat less
active environment or audience.
$150+ dollars per training hour. (Usually there
is no, or minimal charges for prep time.)
$500-$750+ For classic conference, large audience,
keynoting appearances.
Fundraising Option
On several occasions we have received requests from groups to do important
work where no support was available. One successful technique we have
used is to do an additional training open to the public by tuition on
a topic that should have a good chance at bringing a good size group
as a way to raise funds for the original event. The funds raised at
the tuition event, is used to cover the costs of both trainings. On
some occasions programs have brought in more money than necessary and
have actually realized a profit by the events…call us for more
details or to see if this might be a good option for you the fund less
event you are planning.
Don’t
get lost in the numbers.
Contact us with you ideas and requests. Of course financial considerations
and availability will vary. We try to be as open and flexible as possible.
If we can’t help you with your needs it is often our pleasure
to help you find a service that can.
Scholarships
For those of you not sponsoring an event but instead trying to attend
a Learning Lab’s tuition training, scholarships can be available
based on need. Contact our Program Contortionist Sharon Fisher for details.
